How to Assemble Your CD Clock

Attaching the Hands

Your clock will arrive with the movement already attached to the CD, as shown below:

Detach the hour, minute and second hand from the packaging

Attach the hour hand, as shown below, ensuring that this is firm enough to stay attached but not too secure that the hand cannot rotate freely, when the time adjustment wheel at the back of the movement is turned.

Next, do the same with the minute hand and then test to ensure this can too rotate freely via the wheel at the back of the movement

Then the second hand:

The Stand

Fold the stand down the middle, so that it is symmetrical

Now, insert the pin, on one side of the stand, into the flexible plastic bar, on the opposing side of the stand.

You can adjust the angle of the clock face by changing the width between the lower edges of the stand (via the length of this plastic bar) by inserting the pin into a different hole, as show below:

or

The wider the gap between the two sides of the stand, the more upright, the clock face will be

Inserting the Battery

The back of the quartz movement will look like this initially

The clock requires a single AA battery and this should be inserted as shown below:

Ensure you place the flat end of the battery against the spring-like part of the clock. Apply some pressure, so that the end of the battery with the nipple, can be inserted correctly and securely inside the metal connection

That’s it! Your clock is ready to hang or stand on your desk.

Your finished clock should look similar to this:

Attaching the Quartz Movement to the CD

Place the CD onto the quartz movement, with the shaft of the movement inserted through the hole in the CD:

Attach the expanded (possibly rubber) CD disc connector washer to the front of the CD, as shown below:

Put the washer at the front of the CD, in front of the arrangement, as shown below:

Attach the nut to the front of the clock and tighten it to the shaft on the movement – ensure this is secure but do not over tighten:

Now refer to the instructions for attaching the hands above

Attaching the Quartz Movement to the CD

Place the CD onto the quartz movement, with the shaft of the movement inserted through the hole in the CD:
